sabotage at the lake added by Richard Baumeister
email
I thought everyone should know of recent vandalisms at our lake.
Sometime in the recent past, the Dry hydrant at the lake used for filling the fire departments water tender has been shot out and until repaired is now useless as we enter fire season.
Also at some point during the winter, the gate that controls water at the dam was forced open allowing thousands of gallons of water to drain from the lake and threatened to kill the fish that were planted there for the enjoyment of all. When the gate was closed, it would not fully seal and drained constantly for nearly a month. This action also threatened the firefighting ability of our local department but thankfully this was thwarted by diligent efforts of a few residents and eventually the gate closed and sealed. At the time the gate was opened, there was a lock on the wheel to prevent it from being opened but the person or persons forced it open anyway. Since then more security has been installed to prevent this in the future
What could possibly be the motive here?
The Sheriffs department has been notified and I urge us all to keep watch on our precious reservoir

email
A week or two ago I saw a male in his 30s or 40s driving a burgendy red early 90s subaru legacy wagon messing around with that tree in the middle of the day around one or so. That is all I remember hope it helps someone out.

Easter Eggs added by Holly
email
Ron and Karen always go the extra mile as far as Holiday decorations go- whether it be their 'Christmas Light Extravaganza' or the Community Tree- they add a special touch to our little community.
Shame on whoever took those!!! and I hope they put them back.

Sand Barrels added by D. Spangler
If anyone knows who is responsible for filling the sand barrels along the road, could you please let them know that the one just below the keyhole is now empty. Thanks!

Re: Thurs Morning Crash added by D. Spangler
As of 8:45am the road is very icy and treacherous, particularly just below Railsback Hill near the keyhole. The were several vehicles in the ditch. One small white car slid into a large Tahoe that was in the ditch, totalling the car. No one was injured in any of this. The Larimer County Sheriff is on scene, but close to being stuck also. Bob's towing is in process of removing the ditched vehicles. I sanded the entire area to help prevent any further crashes, but it is still very slick. My recommendation, stay home until at least Noon if you can. If you must travel, absolutely use chains!

Thurs morning crash? added by Brenda

I was wondering if anyone knows if everyone was ok? If someone could post when the road is open again it would be great:) I tried to go down about 7:30 and was turned around before I even got to the bears. I hope everyone was ok.

Re: Easter Eggs added by D. Spangler
That is truly sad. I can't imagine why someone would do this, but it is very wrong in my opinion. The 'Holiday Tree' as I call it, has brought smiles and joy to many folks here on the mountain for some time now. I for one like seeing it and appreciate the effort someone puts forth to decorate it throughout the year. PLEASE RETURN THE EGGS!!! If you are too embarrassed to drop them off in person, simply hang them back on the tree so they can be returned to the kind folks who decorate it for our community. It is the right thing to do.

Easter eggs added by Richard Baumeister
It seems someone removed the easter decorations from the tree on the acsess road. I see the decorated tree as a great sign of life on our road and wonder why someone would do this.
Please return them to Karen and Ron Hentges
