Friday, August 6th - Shooting Suspect Caught By Denver SWAT Team... A man who reportedly shot at a local resident Wednesday was apprehended by Denver SWAT officers after forcing his way into a unit at the Mountain View Apartments in Denver... The suspect, 33 year old Eric Alan Webb, apparently lived in the same building, and allegedly forced his way into another apartment under the guise of being a police officer... Police seized the suspect's Explorer, as well as numerous guns found in his apartment... Webb was also found to have outstanding felony warrants from other jurisdictions... Webb is currently in custody in Denver... The official news release of the incident can be found below...


Thursday, August 5th - Flash Flood Watch Thru Midnight... The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a "Flash Flood Watch" for all of Eastern Colorado including the Storm Mountain area until Midnight tonight... THIS IS A WATCH AND NOT A WARNING!!!  Another round of storms has developed over the Front Range and foothills... A very moist atmosphere and slow storm movement will allow stronger storms to produce 2" - 3" of rainfall in a short period of time... Flash flooding is possible in burn areas and drainages... 


Wednesday, August 4th - Shots Fired In Lot Of River Forks Restaurant... Larimer County Sheriff's Department responded early this afternoon to a report of shots being fired in the parking lot of the River Forks Restaurant in Drake... It has been reported that at around 1pm this afternoon, the suspects pulled into the parking lot firing several shots at a resident, one striking his apartment, then speeding away... Authorities are currently searching for the suspects reportedly last seen driving a green Ford Explorer with temporary tags, Eastbound on Hwy 34... The area has been temporarily closed off from Schaffer's Campground on the west, to the Drake Post Office on the east, while investigators search for shell casings and/or other evidence... It has also been reported that the resident may know the suspects, but has not been confirmed...

Methamphetamine Crisis In Larimer County... Larimer County Officials today released a report on the current use of Methamphetamine (meth) in Larimer County and it's rise to crisis levels... Community concerns range from environmental hazards and associated health problems, including the clean-up of meth manufacturing waste, to child abuse and family psychosocial disorders... Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant that causes brain damage among it's users... Meth production is also rumored to have played a part in the starting of the Bobcat Gulch Wildfire here on Storm Mountain back in 2000... Monday, August 2nd - Early Voting Open This Week... Area residents who would like to vote early for the upcoming Primary Elections may do so this week at five locations throughout the county... The offices will be open from 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, Aug 2nd - Aug 6th...
